If you are a mother of one child or multiple children and are trying to balance a full time job or several part time jobs, you know just how impossible it can all feel on a daily basis. There just never seems to be enough hours in the day for you to take care of everything you need to, and you might often feel like some area of your life is lacking.

Work is important, of course, because you need it in order to keep a roof over everyone’s head and food on the table, and eventually retire in comfort .  Yet, nothing is more important than your family and their care, love, and happiness. Unfortunately, society is not always built to make balancing these things easy. Luckily, there are things you can do to make it slightly easier for yourself. Here are 3 tips for balancing motherhood and work.

Ask For Help Around The House

Housework and other household responsibilities can sometimes be rather time consuming and can even take away quality family time from you. In order to remedy this, try asking for help from your spouse and kids. If each of your family members has a few simple chores to do each day or week, that will free up a lot of time that you will then be able to spend with your loved ones instead of cooking, cleaning, etc.

Make Time For Self Care

Making time for your own personal self-care is super important if you are a busy working mother because if you are not feeling your best and taking good care of yourself, you won’t be able to take care of others as well. Sometimes a day or a weekend off to go to the spa or to get a mommy makeover is just what a mother needs to feel rejuvenated and refreshed. It’s not easy to fit something like that into a very demanding schedule, but it’s very important.

It’s understandable that working hard and spending time with your children may seem to take up most of your time, but if you are able to, you should strive to set aside time each week to do something for yourself such as watch a TV show you really like, take a hot bath, or read a book! This will help your mental health and make you a better mother and will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to take on anything your job throws your way.

Get Plenty Of Sleep

It’s crucial that you get enough sleep each night in order to take on all of your responsibilities both at work and at home. Try to go to sleep at the same time each evening and wake up around the same time each morning so that you can get your body used to a sleep schedule that works for you! Besides, you’re no good to anyone if you are exhausted all the time, and getting enough sleep is good for your health!

As a busy mother who also works a hectic job, you may feel like you’re never going to be able to rest until you reach retirement! That doesn’t have to be true, however. Make time for your loved ones and for yourself and you will reap the benefits. Hopefully these tips can help!
